Lyn Corbray

Lyn is the second of Lord Corbray of Hogar's sons, between his elder brother Lyonel and the youngest, Lucas.

He won his spurs fighting for House Targaryen against Lord Jon Arryn outside Gulltown, shortly before the war broke out; he was pardoned afterward and ended up joining Arryn against the Targaryens themselves.

At the Trident his father was wounded; Lyn seized the family's Valyrian steel sword and used it to kill the man who had struck the blow.

He then led the charge against the Dornish and cut down Prince Lewyn Martell of the Kingsguard, coming out of it badly wounded himself. That is why Lord Corbray left the sword to him instead of to his firstborn.

With Jon Arryn dead, Lyn is counted among those circling Lady Lysa for her hand; his squire is Mychel Redfort. He is present when the Eyrie puts Tyrion Lannister on trial.

When Tyrion demands trial by combat, Lyn offers himself as the Vale's champion, but Lysa turns him down. Once Tyrion is freed, it is Lyn who escorts him to the Bloody Gate and warns him never to come back.

Later he joins the Lords Declarant in parleying with Petyr Baelish and young Robert Arryn at the Eyrie; Lord Nestor Royce remarks that for nearly half a year Lyn had scarcely left Lady Lysa's side.

Partway through the talks he loses patience and draws on Baelish, breaking guest right; Ser Lothor Brune moves fast, but it is another of the Declarants who talks him into sheathing the blade, and Lyn storms out soon after. Baelish later tells Alayne that Lyn is actually in his service: his job is to feign hatred of him, join every plot against him, and report back on all of it.

He is slender and striking to look at, with brown hair down to his shoulders and a loose lock falling over his forehead.

He is reckless and quick-tempered, something that has already shown in front of others more than once.
