House Brune of the Dyre Den is a noble family seated at Sharp Point, in the Crownlands, sworn to the Baratheons of King's Landing. A related line of the same name appears to have branched off further inland, at Brownhollow.
The house surfaces twice in the wider history of the realm: once in a dynastic war fought between rival Targaryen claimants, and later in a clash of armies on the banks of a great river.
Origins
Pacification of the Coast
The oldest surviving accounts of Sharp Point credit a set of brothers from this line with ending a stretch of local warfare and bringing a period of calm to the coast.
That calm did not hold. Over time the region drifted back into the same disputes those brothers had once managed to settle.

When the Targaryen succession split the realm between rival claimants, this house threw its support behind Rhaenyra Targaryen, joining the Crownlands lords who backed her claim over that of her opponents.
