The line of Crow Spike Keep did not begin as an independent house but as an offshoot of House Goodbrother of Hammerhorn. That shared origin also shapes the balance of power between them: the Goodbrothers of Crow Spike Keep answer to those of Hammerhorn as vassals.

Within the web of the Iron Islands, where every island and every castle sits under a greater lord, this branch occupies one of those middle rungs — beneath its parent house, yet with a name, seat and lineage of its own.

The house's seat is Crow Spike Keep, raised on Great Wyk, one of the larger islands of the ironborn archipelago. It shares that land with other castles of the region, among them Hammerhorn, seat of the senior branch it serves.
