House Roote of Lord Harroway's Town

House Roote is a noble family of the Riverlands, sworn to House Baelish of Harrenhal from its seat at Lord Harroway's Town. Its arms, two brown horse foreparts joined over a field of green waves, have been linked by some sources to the ancient king Andahar.
Little else has survived about the house beyond two moments: one of its lords standing by a Targaryen prince against his own king, and its banner appearing centuries later in an army gathered in the Riverlands.

Lord Roote was one of the few lords who sided with Prince Aegon Targaryen when he decided to overthrow his uncle, King Maegor I Targaryen.
At that time the house did not yet hold Lord Harroway's Town, the seat that would eventually give it its name; when it came into their possession is not recorded.
