House Smallwood of Acorn Hall is a family of the Riverlands, sworn to the Vances of Wayfarer's Rest. Its arms show six golden acorns on a field of gold, and its words are From These Beginnings.
The house's name is tied to one particular episode: one of its lords, together with his wife, attended a tournament where the family took a side in a dispute that went far beyond a simple joust.

During the Blackfyre Rebellion, House Smallwood held to its loyalty to the Targaryens. Even so, the lord of Acorn Hall of that time traveled with his wife to Whitewalls, where a tournament was being held.
It was there that the house threw its support behind Daemon II Blackfyre, backing the brief uprising he led.
