House Strickland is a minor Westerosi house whose trail was lost to exile: its lords took up arms for the losing side of a rebellion and crossed the Narrow Sea, never to return. Since then, generation after generation, its descendants have served as sellswords in one of the most renowned mercenary companies of Essos.
Chapter 1
The Blackfyre Rebellion

A lord of House Strickland joined the rebellion Daemon Blackfyre raised against the Iron Throne. The revolt was broken at the Battle of the Prado Hierbarroja, where the rebels were defeated.
After the defeat, Strickland fled across the Narrow Sea together with Aemon Blackfyre and the rest of the exiles. None of them ever returned to Westeros.
Chapter 2
Four generations in the Golden Company

Harry StricklandSince then, four generations of House Strickland have served in the Golden Company, the mercenary company formed by the Westerosi exiles and their descendants.
By the time of A Dance with Dragons, Harry Strickland commands the Golden Company, which prepares to cross the Narrow Sea again and carry Aegon VI to the Iron Throne.
