House Teague
Casa Teague
House Teague was one of the dynasties that ruled the Trident in the Riverlands before the rise of House Tully. It was founded by an adventurer of uncertain origin, a man able to pay an army of Essosi sellswords with gold and win himself a crown after only six years of war.
The great riverlords never fully accepted this upstart house, and its kings were forced to rule surrounded by hostages and a loyalty that was always half-hearted.
Chapter 1
The upstart king

Nearly a century after the fall of House Justman, a man named Torrence Teague appeared in the Riverlands, and no one quite knew where he had come from. He gathered enough gold to hire sellswords in Essos and used them to attack the Westerlands.
The campaign dragged on for six years. Torrence was eventually crowned at Maidenpool as King of the Trident, one more crown among the several that then divided the region.
Chapter 2
Hostages at court
Books only
The lords of the Trident never took the Teagues seriously, a house with no roots among them. To hold the throne, its kings were forced to keep hostages from the great riverlord families at their own court.
The dynasty's fourth king, Theo Teague, spent so long fighting rebellious lords that he earned the name Theo Saddle-Sore.
Chapter 3
The Battle of Six Kings

Generations later, King Humfrey I Teague set out to suppress the worship of the Old Gods, seeking the backing of the Faith Militant. The answer came from three of the Trident's great houses: Blackwood, Vance, and Tully rose in rebellion.
The Teagues and their loyal supporters came close to crushing the revolt, but Lord Roderick Blackwood turned for help to a kinsman, the Storm King Arlan III Durrandon. The battle that followed, remembered as the Battle of Six Kings, killed Humfrey, his three sons, and his brother.
Roderick Blackwood also died in the fighting. With no one of his blood left to claim the riverlands, Arlan III Durrandon added them to his own realm, and House Teague went out with them.
