Carcosa

Carcosa is the easternmost city known in Essos, set at the very edge of the known world. It sits far from everything happening in Westeros, but its name carries a title someone has just claimed without any right to it.

Chapter 1

The edge of the world

Books only

Carcosa rises in the Far East, beyond what almost no account from Westeros manages to describe. To the west, the Hidden Sea separates it from the rest of the continent, hemmed in by the Mountains of the Morn and other ranges that block any path by land.

Across those waters, facing the city, stands the City of the Winged Men. To the north lie the Cities of the Bloodless Men, and to the south, the Shadow Lands. No other known city stands farther to the east.

Chapter 2

The emperor who is not one

Books only

A sorcerer who arrived in Carcosa as an exile has proclaimed himself the sixty-ninth Yellow Emperor. The title sounds like lineage and a crown, but the dynasty that once held it died out a thousand years ago.

The physical world

Es la ciudad mas oriental del mundo conocido.
