Greenshield is one of the Shield Islands guarding the mouth of the Mander, seat of House Chester.
Small as it is, it has witnessed a royal confession and served as a battleground between the Reach and the Iron Islands.
Targaryen Era
Visit of Jaehaerys I
In 89 AC, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen was touring the Shield Islands when he set foot on Greenshield. It was there that his granddaughter Rhaenys told him of her plans to marry Lord Corlys Velaryon.

Campaign against the Iron Islands
Forty years later, in 134 AC, four galleys from Greenshield joined the fleet Lord Alyn Velaryon gathered against the Iron Islands. The aim was to put an end to the raids of Lord Dalton Greyjoy, who had spent years harrying the Reach's coasts.

Euron's Conquest
Battle of the Shield Islands
Greenshield falls to the ironborn during the Battle of the Shield Islands. Once the fighting ends, King Euron Greyjoy grants lordship of the island to Lord Maron Volmark.
