Ironoaks

Roble de Hierro

Ironoaks is the seat of House Waynwood, built beside a lake in the Vale of Arryn, between the Eyrie and the lands of Redfort and Old Anchor. Its history goes back to the time the Andals crossed the Narrow Sea, and the castle also turns up as a stop on a journey across the Vale toward the Eyrie.

The castle stands beside a lake, near a river that flows into the Narrow Sea, southeast of the Eyrie and north of Redfort, not far from Old Anchor. It is the home of House Waynwood, and is also known as Ironoaks Castle.

The battle beneath its walls

When the Andals crossed the Narrow Sea and invaded the Vale, King Robar Royce fought the chieftain known as the Hammer of the Hills beneath the walls of Ironoaks, and defeated him.

A stop on the road to the Eyrie

In A Storm of Swords, Lady Lysa Tully returns to the Eyrie after marrying Petyr Baelish at his small stronghold in the Fingers. Her niece Sansa Stark travels with the party, and the road back takes them past Ironoaks.
