Kyth
Kyth was a river city of the Kingdom of Sarnor, built on the banks of the Sarne alongside Rathylar and Hornoth, the three of them supplying the boats that worked the river.
Its place in that region's history belongs to the fall of Sarnor, one of the great kingdoms before the Andals crossed the narrow sea, swept away by the Dothraki tide.
Chapter 1
City of the Sarne
Books only
Kyth stood on the bank of the Sarne, one of the great inland rivers of Essos, near Rathylar and Hornoth. The three cities shared the same trade: putting boats on the water so the deep blue current of the Sarne could carry goods up and down its length.
Like its neighbors, Kyth belonged to the Kingdom of Sarnor, the river power that ruled that basin before the riders of the plains reached its gates.
Chapter 2
The Bloody Century
Books only
When the Bloody Century began, the Dothraki khalasars turned on Sarnor. The city of Sallosh fell first, and soon after two rival khals threw themselves at Kyth and Hornoth, each trying to outdo the other in savagery.
Neither city survived: both were destroyed, and all that is left of Kyth today is the ruin that carries its name.
