Lemonwood is the seat of House Dalt, standing on Dorne's southeastern coast near where the Greenblood meets the sea.
Its history was shaped by the Targaryen conquest of Dorne: Queen Rhaenys took it with barely a fight, and years later it burned under Vhagar's fire.

The Sangreverde lands

Long before Lemonwood stood as it does now, the land already had rulers. The High Kings of Dorne governed the Sangreverde lands from a castle nearby, back in the distant days of the Age of Heroes.
Chapter 2
The undefended keep

When Queen Rhaenys Targaryen brought war to Dorne, Lemonwood fell without a fight. She had already burned Los Tablones, and when she reached the seat of House Dalt she found only children and old men there — the fighting men were gone.
From Lemonwood she pressed on toward Sunspear, in the same campaign of the First Dornish War.

Vhagar's fire

Eight years after the Conquest, Visenya Targaryen returned to Dorne riding Vhagar. In retaliation for Dornish raids on Cape Wrath and the Rainwood, she burned Sunspear, Ghost Hill, Tor, and Lemonwood.
