Omboru is one of the Summer Isles, and of the archipelago's three largest islands the one with the fewest people living on it.
Its forests hold aurocorazón wood, rare enough that it grows only here and on Jhala, and a reddish breed of ape found nowhere else in the known world.
Geography and fauna
Of the three largest Summer Isles, Omboru has the fewest people living on it. Forests cover nearly the whole island, broken only at its eastern and western edges by rivers.
Along with Jhala, it is the one place where aurocorazón wood grows. Its trees are also home to an ape found nowhere else in the known world, a breed called the Old Red Men.

Neighboring islands
Omboru does not sit alone in the sea. To the north, across the Smiling Sea, lies the Isle of Birds. To the south, past the Indigo Straits, is Jhala.
To the west cluster three smaller islands: the Three Exiles, the Singing Stones, and the Isle of Love.
