Selhorys

Selhorys stands where the Selhoru flows into the Rhoyne, north of Valysar and northwest of Volantis, the city that rules it. Domes and towers rise above the sandstone wall of its waterfront, crowded with shops and warehouses lit at night by colored paper lanterns.

Behind the harbor opens a square with a white marble statue: Triarch Horonno, missing his head. Around it crowd pleasure houses and taverns hung with iron chains and colored glass lanterns, along with a temple to R'hllor.

The city began as a colony of the Valyrian Freehold and was swept into the Rhoynar Wars the empire waged against the river peoples. During the Second Spice War, the Rhoynar prince Garin stormed Selhorys after defeating a Valyrian army thirty thousand strong.

With the war already spreading along the Rhoyne, Volantene war galleys anchor beside the city in case Khal Pono, camped before the walls, decides to attack. The Shy Maid docks at the waterfront to take on supplies.

Tyrion Lannister and Haldon enter Selhorys to find Qavo Nogarys, a Volantene tax farmer who might have word of Daenerys Targaryen. With the meeting done, Tyrion slips off to a pleasure house on the square, where Jorah Mormont catches up with him.
