Starpike
Picaestrella
Starpike is the castle that serves as the seat of House Peake in the Reach, the only one of the family's three strongholds it kept after losing the other two to the Crown.
In time, its walls also became the site of an armed uprising against the Iron Throne, one of the episodes that marked the house's decline after its part in the Blackfyre wars.
Chapter 1
The punishment of the Peakes
Books only
Lord Gormon Peake, head of the house, sided with the pretender Daemon Blackfyre when he rose against the throne. The rebellion's defeat cost him dearly.
King Daeron II Targaryen seized two of his three castles, Dunstonbury and Whitegrove, and left him only Starpike.
Chapter 2
The rock that killed a king
Books only
Years later, Starpike became the site of the Peake Uprising, a new revolt against the Iron Throne.
According to semi-canonical sources, it was there that King Maekar I Targaryen met his death: a rock falling from the walls crushed his helm. Lord Robert Reyne and Ser Tywald Lannister also died in the same battle.
