The Gullet

The Gullet is the strait of sea separating the island of Dragonstone from Massey's Hook, the channel through which Blackwater Bay opens to the sea and through which anyone sailing to King's Landing from the south must pass.
Its name became tied to a naval battle of the Dance of the Dragons, and to a storm that on another occasion scattered a royal fleet on its way to the capital.
