Tolos
Tolos is a port city on the northwestern coast of Slaver's Bay, known for its slingers, marksmen famed for their aim with round lead shot.
Its place in the story comes from the war over Meereen: when Daenerys Targaryen sought allies among the slaving cities, Tolos was one that turned her away.
Chapter 1
On the Demon Road
Books only
Tolos has its own harbor on the northwestern coast of Slaver's Bay. Its slingers are famed for their aim.
The city is linked to Mantarys and Bhorash by one of the old Valyrian roads, the so-called Demon Road. To the west, on an island, lies Elyria; between Tolos and Bhorash rise the Black Cliffs.
Chapter 2
The alliance that never was
Books only
Hizdahr zo Loraq, the dragon queen's consort, had kin in Tolos, one of many ties binding the slaving cities to one another.
When Daenerys Targaryen offered an alliance, Tolos answered with insults and joined Yunkai in the war against Meereen, sending a carrack and a company of slingers to the siege — men among whom the bloody flux running through the besieging camp also took its toll.
At the same time, the flux and the dragons were driving Meereenese to flee their city; some of those refugees sought shelter in Tolos.
