Costayne
Costayne was Lord of Three Towers, head of House Costayne, at a time when his family still carried the suspicion of a past rebellion.
He is remembered above all for his part at someone else's wedding, his father-in-law's, where he took part in a dispute over precedence and was defeated in a tourney.
Chapter 1
Heir after the rebellion

His father, Lord Costayne, had backed Daemon Blackfyre's claim to the throne against King Daeron II Targaryen, and that misplaced loyalty left a stain on the house.
On his father's death, Costayne inherited the lordship of Three Towers. By then Aerys I Targaryen was already king, and it fell to him to carry the family name under that shadow.
Chapter 2
The ford at Whitewalls

Costayne was married to one of the daughters from Lord Ambrose Butterwell's first marriage, and he attended his father-in-law's wedding to a daughter of Lord Frey, held at Whitewalls, with his retinue.
When the time came to cross the lake by the castle, he argued with Lord Shawney over who should go first: Costayne held himself of better birth, Shawney his elder in years.
In the tourney held afterward at the castle, Costayne was defeated by Ser Glendon Flowers.
