Drazenko Rogare
Drazenko Rogare was one of the envoys Lys sent to the court of Sunspear, where he ended up marrying Aliandra Martell, Princess of Dorne. The marriage made him a Dornish prince consort and, for his family, proof that the Rogares had managed to weave alliances all the way to the Dornish throne.
His story belongs to the brief resurgence the Rogares enjoyed in Westeros in the years following the Dance of the Dragons, when the Lysene family briefly regained a voice in the politics of the Seven Kingdoms.
Chapter 1
The envoy from Lys in Sunspear
Books only
Drazenko arrived at the court of Princess Aliandra Martell as one of the representatives Lys sent to Sunspear. He and his brother Lysandro are named as architects of the rapprochement between Dorne and the Triarchy, which suggests he had already been a fixture at the Dornish court under Prince Qoren Martell, Aliandra's father.
Chapter 2
The Day of the Maiden
133 ACBooks only
On the Day of the Maiden in the year 133, Drazenko approached Lord Alyn Velaryon during the feast held for the occasion and told him that Prince Viserys Targaryen, believed dead since the Battle of the Gullet, was alive and staying with his brother Lysandro in Lys.
Alyn was then on his way back to King's Landing after his campaign against Lord Dalton Greyjoy's ironmen in the Westerlands. The news made him change course and sail for the Free City the very next day.
Chapter 3
Prince consort of Dorne
Books only
Drazenko married Aliandra Martell and became prince consort of Dorne. She also granted him the title Lord of the Stepstones. That marriage, together with Viserys's return to King's Landing, marked the high point the Rogare family ever reached in Westeros.
Chapter 4
The two deaths of the Rogares
135 ACBooks only
Drazenko died in Dorne in the year 135, choking on a piece of bacon. His brother Lysandro drowned a day later in Lys, when the barge he was travelling on sank. Many at the time assumed both deaths were the work of hired Faceless Men.
With Drazenko and Lysandro dead, the Rogares' standing began to decline both in Lys and in the Seven Kingdoms.
