Endrew Tarth
Ser Endrew Tarth arrived at Castle Black with no known tie to the lords of the island of Tarth. Before donning the black he had served at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, and ended up in charge of training the recruits who reached the Wall.
His name is tied to the task of turning peasants and thieves into sworn brothers, a job Ser Alliser Thorne had held before him.
Chapter 1
From Eastwatch to Castle Black
Endrew spent his early years of service at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, on the Wall's eastern coast. Lord Commander Jeor Mormont had him transferred to Castle Black to take up the post of master-at-arms.
The change pushed aside Ser Alliser Thorne, who until then had been the one training the Watch's new men.
Chapter 2
The new trainer of recruits
At Castle Black, Jon Snow watched him drill the recruits Conwy had brought to the Wall.
To Jon it seemed a less severe training than Alliser's, though hard all the same.
Chapter 3
The battle of the Bridge of Skulls
299 AC
Ser Endrew died in the battle of the Bridge of Skulls.
After his death, Jon Snow took over training the recruits on a temporary basis.
