Jon Roxton
Ser Jon Roxton, called the Bold, was a knight of House Roxton who wielded his family's ancestral Valyrian steel blade, Orphan-Maker.
His name became tied to the cause of Aegon II Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war that split House Targaryen in two. He was also remembered for a dark temper that few cared to face.
Chapter 1
The blade at the Honeywine
Aegon II TargaryenRoxton sided with Aegon II the moment the war began, carrying Orphan-Maker, his house's Valyrian steel blade, into battle. At the Honeywine he faced Lord Owen Costayne and left him grievously wounded, a wound the lord would not survive.
In the wake of the fight, he knighted Titus Peake, heir to Lord Unwin Peake.
Chapter 2
The spoils of Ladera
Ormund HightowerAfter Lord Ormund Hightower fell at the Battle of Ladera, Roxton put himself forward to lead the Hightower host.
In the battle's final hours he killed Lord Footly and claimed his wife, Lady Sharis Footly, as a war prize.
When word reached the camp of unrest in King's Landing, he joined the lords pressing for a march on the capital.
Chapter 3
The second Battle of Ladera
130 AC
Hugh HammerThe lords gathered again to decide the fate of the Two Traitors, but before they could act, the second Battle of Ladera broke out.
Roxton caught Hugh Hammer off guard and opened him from groin to throat with Orphan-Maker. Moments later, ten of Hugh's men closed in on him; he killed three before he went down. It was said he slipped on Hugh's own entrails as he fell, and that was the end of him.
Half a year later, Lady Sharis Footly bore a son, and it was never known for certain whether Roxton was the father.
