Lady Mallister

When Prince Daemon Targaryen lets Ser Willem Blackwood loose on the Bracken lands to break them, the news outrages much of the Trident's nobility. Lady Mallister is among those who ride to Harrenhal by night to confront him.

She tells Daemon how Blackwood's men have burned the fields and homes of smallfolk who had no part in the feud between the two houses. When Lord Petyr Piper points out that there is no honor in such tactics, Lady Mallister answers that there is not even decency in them.

She calls him an "intruder" and warns him that the Riverlands will not bow to a tyrant, dragon or no dragon. With that, she and the other lords leave the castle.

After Lord Grover Tully's death and his grandson's rise as the new head of the Trident, the river lords, Lady Mallister among them, are summoned back to Harrenhal. They gather in the castle's godswood when Daemon, the new Lord Paramount, and Ser Simon Strong, castellan of the fortress, arrive.

The prince declares that every noble house of the Trident must swear him fealty. After the new Tully forces Daemon to apologize for what was done to the Brackens, Lady Mallister approaches her liege and reminds him that tradition demands justice for the Blackwoods as well. Ser Willem Blackwood claims he has already delivered it by subduing his rivals, but Lady Mallister stays silent as he is arrested and put to death by Daemon.

Varamar's levies later join the rest of the Trident's forces, an army forty thousand strong placed under the prince's command.
