Obella Sand is one of the Sand Snakes, the daughters Prince Oberyn Martell fathered outside marriage. Her mother is Ellaria Sand, from whom she takes the surname Dorne gives its bastards.
She was born in Dorne around the year 288 after the Conquest, though the sources do not give the date with certainty.

Settled in the Water Gardens, Obella and her sister Elia became known as the terror of the palace's pools.
