Ser Farman was the eldest son of Lord Farman and the designated heir to Fair Isle during the reigns of Aenys I and Maegor I Targaryen. His name is tied to the war that pitted King Maegor against Prince Aegon Targaryen, in which he took up arms alongside his father.

In 43 AC, Ser Farman took up arms alongside his father and his nephew, Ser Franklyn, on the side of Prince Aegon Targaryen against King Maegor I, and fell together with his father in the battle fought beneath the Gods Eye.
His death left the succession he was due to inherit open, and the lordship of Fair Isle passed to his younger brother, Marq Farman.
