Marq Farman
Marq Farman was the second son of Lord Farman and became Lord of Fair Isle after his father and elder brother died in the war between King Maegor I Targaryen and his nephew Prince Aegon.
He is remembered above all for sheltering the widowed queen Rhaena Targaryen and her daughters on his island, when they were hunted by Maegor himself and by the kingdom's Poor Fellows.
Chapter 1
The battle under the Gods Eye

Marq was the second son of Lord Farman, who ruled Fair Isle through the reigns of Aenys I and then Maegor I. In time Marq had three children of his own: Franklyn, Elissa, and Androw. In 43 AC his father, his elder brother, and Franklyn himself took up arms alongside Prince Aegon against King Maegor in the battle fought by the Gods Eye. His father and brother did not return from that field, and the lordship of Fair Isle fell to Marq.
Soon after the battle, Queen Rhaena, Aegon's widow, sought refuge on Fair Isle with her two daughters, Aerea and Rhaella, fleeing her uncle the king. Marq took them in and gave his word that under his roof no harm would come to them.
Chapter 2
The wedding of the widowed queen

In 49 AC Marq presided at Fair Isle over the marriage of his son Androw to the widowed queen herself. It was said Rhaena accepted the match to repay the protection Marq had given her years before, when her uncle the king wanted her taken and the Poor Fellows branded her a sinner and her daughters abominations.

The silenced preacher

Some time later, when the dragon Dreamfyre laid a clutch of eggs on the island, one of the Poor Fellows proclaimed it would bring a plague of dragons that would destroy everything. Marq did not let the prophecy stand: he sent his knights to seize the preacher and silence him.
Chapter 4
The death of Lord Marq

A year later, in 50 AC, Marq died at Faircastle after choking on a fish bone. He was succeeded as Lord of Fair Isle by his eldest son, Franklyn.
