Bay of Ice

The Bay of Ice is a stretch of sea in the northern reaches of the North, framed by the Frozen Shore and the coastal lands of the mountain clans. Bear Island rises near its centre, and for generations ironborn raiders have used its waters as a route into the North's coastline.
Chapter 1
A bay between ice and clans

The bay runs along the Frozen Shore to the north, with its southern edge reaching toward Sea Dragon Point. Roughly midway across its waters stands Bear Island.
To the west, the lands of Clan Wull reach its shore, as do those of Clan Flint. For generations ironborn raiders have used the bay as a way in, sailing up it to strike the coast of the North.
Chapter 2
The capture of Deepwood Motte

Chapter 3
The return for the assembly

Later, Asha crosses the bay again in the opposite direction, bound for the Iron Islands, where an assembly gathers to choose a new lord.

Alysane Mormont's ambush

In the bay, Alysane Mormont leads the men-at-arms of her house against the ironborn who had settled at Deepwood Motte, catching them before they can react.
