Castillo de la Princesa Rosada

Pinkmaiden Castle is the seat of House Piper, in the Riverlands, close to the border with the Westerlands. A rebel prince once used it as his camp, and a king came to visit riding his dragon; generations later, war would cross its gate as well.

Chapter 1

The rebel prince's camp

Prince Aegon Targaryen turned Pinkmaiden into his base when he rose against his uncle, King Maegor I, whom he branded a usurper before anyone willing to listen. From there he gathered fifteen thousand men ready to follow him.

While the prince marched toward battle beneath the Gods Eye, his wife Rhaena and their daughters stayed behind, waiting for news inside the castle walls.

Chapter 2

The wandering princess

In the year 51 AC, Princess Rhaena set foot in Pinkmaiden again, this time after leaving Descanso del Caminante behind. She did not stay long, soon taking the road back to King's Landing.

The king who arrived flying

Two years later, in 53 AC, King Jaehaerys I flew over the castle on Vermithor's back, one stop on his royal progress through the Riverlands.

Chapter 4

The Reaper Lord's wedding

Quellon Greyjoy, the Reaper Lord of Pyke, took a lady of House Piper as his third wife in a ceremony held inside the castle itself, presided over by the fortress's own septon.

Gregor Clegane's sack

Lord Tywin Lannister claimed that Ser Gregor Clegane had attacked and sacked House Piper's stronghold.

Chapter 6

The prisoners of Pinkmaiden

During the War of the Five Kings, Pinkmaiden Castle also served as a prison for high-born captives. Ser Lyle Crakehall was among those held there.
