Spicetown

As House Velaryon became the wealthiest in the Seven Kingdoms through Lord Corlys Velaryon's voyages, the small village that would become Spicetown began to grow. Its position on Driftmark let it draw much of the shipping trade that would otherwise have gone to Duskendale or King's Landing.

In time its docks filled with ships from the Free Cities and beyond.

In the year 120 AC a fair was held in Spicetown, attended by Ser Laenor Velaryon. There, after a quarrel with his friend Ser Qarl Correy, he was allegedly stabbed to death by him.

During the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Corlys Velaryon gathered the ships of Spicetown and Hull to seal off the Gullet. In the battle fought there the dragon Vermax was killed, and the people of Spicetown heard its dying screams.

Afterward, the Triarchy's fleet sacked the town, massacred its people and tore down its buildings. Once the civil war ended, Spicetown was never rebuilt and was left in ruins.

Ser Marston Waters and another Spicetown 'cousin' left homeless after the Battle of the Gullet later helped Tom Tanglebeard and Tom Tinglestone.
