Ser Burton Crakehall was a knight of House Crakehall, younger brother of its lord, Roland Crakehall. He served in the army Lord Tywin Lannister led into the Riverlands during the War of the Five Kings, where his path crossed that of the outlaw Lord Beric Dondarrion, whose pursuit would shape the rest of his story.

Hunt for Beric Dondarrion
Burton led a party of men after the band of Lord Beric Dondarrion, lord of Blackhaven turned outlaw captain harrying Lannister forces in the Riverlands. The chase ended with Beric's death at Burton's hands.
The victory did not last. Beric was brought back to life, and he and his men ambushed Burton's party, killing all of them.
