Gwyneth was born in 288 AC, the youngest child of Lord Anders Yronwood, lord of Yronwood. She has two older siblings, Ynys and Cletus.
In a family of blond, blue-eyed Dornishmen, she is the exception: small, thin, dark-eyed, with brown hair. She is clever, and as quick with words as she is with her hands.

Betrothal to Quentyn
When Quentyn Martell, son of the Prince of Dorne, was sent to be fostered at Yronwood, Gwyneth set a condition on the marriage both of them took for granted: he would have to wait until she flowered.
Quentyn never forgot that promise. Far from Dorne, he summed up what he wanted from home in these words: "What I want is to go back to Yronwood, kiss your two sisters, marry Gwyneth Yronwood, watch her beauty bloom, and have children with her."
