Ashford is a market town and the triangular castle standing watch over it, raised beside a tributary that feeds the Mander, in the lands of the Reach.
Seat of House Ashford, its outskirts have hosted some of the most remembered episodes in Targaryen history and in the war that ultimately carried the Baratheons to the Iron Throne.

The Ashford seat splits into two parts: a market town of whitewashed, straw-roofed houses, and a stone castle set a little apart, beside the river that feeds the Mander.
The stronghold has a triangular plan, with a round tower roughly ten metres high at each corner and a thick wall linking them.
