Sarne Delta
el delta del Sarne
The Sarne Delta is the final stretch of the Sarne river, where it empties into the Shivering Sea at the northern edge of Essos. Along its shores stand the cities of Saath and Morosh, together with the ruins of the ancient Vaes Graddakh.
Control of this river mouth has been fought over for generations, with the Ibbenese repeatedly clashing with the cities of the region over its command.
Chapter 1
Cities of the delta
Books only
In the Sarne Delta, where the river reaches the Shivering Sea, stand the cities of Saath and Morosh, alongside the ruins of the ancient Vaes Graddakh. To the west of the delta lies the Forest of Qohor, to the south the Painted Mountains, and to the southeast the Dothraki Sea.
Chapter 2
The contested river mouth
Books only
Control of the Sarne's mouth has repeatedly sparked war: the Ibbenese have tried more than once to seize it, clashing bloodily with Saath and neighboring Sarys.
The kingdom of Sarnor once flourished along the Sarne and its tributaries, its capital Sarnath standing beside the river. After the Doom of Valyria and the Century of Blood that followed, the Dothraki razed almost every one of its cities, and only Saath, at the river's mouth, survived as the last remnant of that kingdom.

What we are not sure about
PositionWe worked it out
The position was inferred from the label on the base map rather than from a symbol of its own: it marks the area, not the point.
Spanish nameWe worked it out
The Spanish name is the atlas’s own reviewed translation, not the one in the published Gigamesh edition, which does not fix it.
