Cassana Estermont
Cassana Estermont was the wife of Lord Steffon Baratheon, lord of Storm's End, and the mother of Robert, Stannis, and Renly Baratheon.
Her name is forever tied to a shipwreck within sight of her own castle's walls, the storm that left her three sons orphaned.

Born into House Estermont, Cassana married Steffon Baratheon and settled with him at Storm's End. Their marriage produced three sons: Robert, Stannis, and Renly.
Chapter 2
The search for a bride for Rhaegar
Books only
Rhaegar TargaryenKing Aerys II sent his cousin Steffon on a mission to the Free Cities: to find a bride there for his son, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Cassana went with him on the voyage.
The errand turned up no candidate, but Steffon came back with something else: a deformed jester named Patchface, whom he described as remarkable.
Chapter 3
The sinking of the Windproud

On the return voyage, Steffon and Cassana's ship, the Windproud, was caught in a storm within sight of Storm's End. Robert and Stannis watched from the castle towers as the sea drove the ship onto the rocks.
Cassana drowned along with Steffon and several hundred men. Of everyone aboard, only Patchface reached the shore alive.
