Eldon Estermont is the Lord of Greenstone and head of House Estermont, one of the noble families sworn to the Stormlands.
An elderly man known for his complaining nature, his story matters because it traces the fate of so many lesser lords during the War of the Five Kings, men forced to pick a side among crowned kin.
War of the Five Kings
When war broke out among the claimants to the Iron Throne, Ser Eldon, heir to a noble house of the Stormlands, threw his support behind Renly Baratheon.
Renly's death left him without a king, so he turned to Stannis Baratheon and fought under his banner in the battle fought on the waters of the Blackwater.

Defeat at the Blackwater cost him his freedom: Ser Eldon was taken captive, and like others of his house he ended up swearing fealty to King Joffrey.

Lord of Greenstone
His father's death made him Lord of Greenstone. Shortly after, he became betrothed and married, with little delay, to Sylva Santagar, heiress of Spottswood.

Years later, forces of the Golden Company under Marq Mandrake took Greenstone. What became of Eldon is uncertain, though he is presumed a captive of that company.
