Siege of Storm's End (299)

In the year 299, Storm's End — seat of House Baratheon in the Stormlands — became the place where Stannis and Renly Baratheon settled which of the two brothers would press his claim to the crown. Renly arrived at its walls backed by the strength of the Reach, while Ser Cortnay Penrose held the castle shut in the garrison's name.

At Stannis's side stood the red priestess Melisandre, and the smuggler Davos Seaworth witnessed closely what was decided there. What happened beneath those walls proved a turning point in the war for the Iron Throne.
