Dickon Tarly

Dickon Tarly is born at Horn Hill, the second son of Randyll Tarly and Melessa Florent. As an infant he is cared for by Samwell and his mother, who sing him to sleep with The Song of the Seven.

Over time, who accompanies Randyll to Highgarden changes: he stops bringing Samwell to pay homage and attend audiences there, and starts bringing Dickon instead.

One line survives from his father, spoken about those same songs: "This has to stop. You've already spoiled one boy with those soft septon's songs, do you want to do the same to the baby?"

When Samwell leaves for the Night's Watch, the title of heir to Horn Hill falls to Dickon, described as a stout, fierce boy.

When House Tarly marches with Renly Baratheon, Dickon is among the forces that reach Highgarden, already serving as a squire.

During the march he hears of a wager several knights have made over Brienne of Tarth's virginity, and reports it to his father.

Around the same time he becomes betrothed to Eleanor Mooton, daughter of Lord William Mooton, lord of Maidenpool.

Dickon marries Eleanor Mooton, who is thirteen years old.

The marriage fulfills the betrothal arranged years before with House Mooton, lords of Maidenpool.
