William Mooton

According to a rumor, when Lord Mooton learned of a wolf pack led by an enormous she-wolf prowling near the Gods Eye, he sent his sons and his hounds to hunt them down.

His sons found the pack's den, but it was they who were ambushed. They barely escaped, losing every one of their hounds along the way.

After the Battle of Duskendale, Lord Randyll Tarly marches on Maidenpool, takes the town, and locks Lord William in a cell in the castle's tower.

King Tommen I Baratheon signs his pardon and welcomes him back into the king's peace.

Brienne of Tarth learns that while the War of the Five Kings burned Maidenpool, Lord William stayed safe behind his walls and simply sent soldiers to fight in his place. Pale-skinned and soft, described as cowardly and shy by those who know him, he fastens his ermine cloak with a red-gold brooch shaped like a salmon.

In front of Randyll Tarly, whom he fears, William never argues with any of the sentences the new master of the region hands down. And when Tarly proposes marrying Eleanor, William's eldest daughter and heir, to his own son and heir Dickon, William agrees. The betrothal is short, and the two young people marry soon after.
