William Mooton
William Mooton is the Lord of Maidenpool and head of House Mooton. He is the father of his heir Eleanor Mooton and at least two more sons, and the brother of Ser Myles Mooton.
The War of the Five Kings reaches the gates of his castle, and what Lord William chooses to do — or not do — while the conflict burns around him ends up shaping his house's place in the peace that follows.

Dickon TarlyBrienne of Tarth learns that while the War of the Five Kings burned Maidenpool, Lord William stayed safe behind his walls and simply sent soldiers to fight in his place. Pale-skinned and soft, described as cowardly and shy by those who know him, he fastens his ermine cloak with a red-gold brooch shaped like a salmon.
In front of Randyll Tarly, whom he fears, William never argues with any of the sentences the new master of the region hands down. And when Tarly proposes marrying Eleanor, William's eldest daughter and heir, to his own son and heir Dickon, William agrees. The betrothal is short, and the two young people marry soon after.
