Joy was born of the union between Ronnel Penrose and Elaena Targaryen, and had three siblings: Robin, Laena, and Jocelyn.
With her, Elaena had borne seven children across her different relationships. After the birth, the princess said that if seven had been enough for the gods, they were enough for her too, and she had no more children after that.
