Prudence Celtigar
Prudence Celtigar was one of the daughters Lord Edwell Celtigar offered up in marriage to the crown, first to King Maegor I and later, once that plan failed, as company for Queen Alysanne Targaryen at Dragonstone. There she became one of the Wise Women sent to talk the newly married young king and queen apart, and later the lady wounded while defending the queen from an attack. That service ended with her marriage to the Lord of Gulltown.
Chapter 1
The daughter offered to a king

Prudence was born in 34 AC, daughter of Lord Edwell Celtigar and sister to Prunella.
Her father served as Hand of the King to Maegor I between 44 and 48 AC, and in that office he advised the king to take another wife — offering his own daughters, maidens of thirteen and twelve, for the purpose. Edwell even suggested Maegor marry both at once. Maegor wanted neither, but he did follow the advice to take several wives: the three women he chose then would go down in history as the Black Brides.
Chapter 2
The Wise Women

Jaehaerys I TargaryenIn 49 AC Lord Edwell tried the same move with another royal couple: he offered his daughters to Lord Rogar Baratheon and Queen Alyssa Velaryon, hoping young Jaehaerys I would take one of them to wife. Baratheon turned him down. Soon after, Prudence and Prunella traveled with other court ladies to Dragonstone, joining Queen Alysanne Targaryen's household.
The trip was more than courtesy: Lord Baratheon, Hand of the King and regent, had planned for those women to talk Alysanne into ending her recent marriage to Jaehaerys. None of them succeeded, and they ended up siding with the young king and queen instead. Baratheon himself, who months earlier had dismissed Prudence as a bride for the king, described her as chinless, breastless, and brainless.
When Jaehaerys and Alysanne held a second wedding ceremony, Prudence was one of the women who undressed the king during the bedding.
Chapter 3
Wounded at Maidenpool

In 51 AC, during the king and queen's royal progress through the Crownlands, the party stopped at Maidenpool. Queen Alysanne, pregnant with her first child, wanted to visit the Pool of Jonquil, said to hold healing waters.
There the sisters who tended the baths attacked the queen. Prudence stepped between them and took a knife wound to the shoulder defending her.
Chapter 4
Lady of Gulltown

A year after the attack, Queen Alysanne found Prudence a husband: she arranged her marriage to Lord Grafton, Lord of Gulltown, and with that match Prudence took the title of Lady of Gulltown.
