Prunella Celtigar

Prunella was born in 35 AC, the daughter of Lord Edwell Celtigar, and grew up alongside her older sister, Prudence.

While her father served as Hand of the King to Maegor I, between 44 and 48 AC, he advised the king to take a wife from among his own daughters: Prudence, thirteen, and herself, twelve. He went so far as to suggest Maegor marry both. The king took neither, though he did follow the underlying advice and went on to wed three women who would later be remembered as the Black Brides.

In 49 AC, Lord Edwell tried again, offering his daughters to Lord Rogar Baratheon and Queen Alyssa Velaryon, suggesting the young King Jaehaerys I might take one of them as his wife. Lord Baratheon turned him down.

Soon after, Prunella and Prudence traveled with other ladies of the court to Dragonstone, meant to keep Queen Alysanne company. The real purpose, set by Rogar Baratheon in his role as Hand and regent, was to talk her into ending her recent marriage to Jaehaerys. None of the women succeeded, and all of them ended up siding with the young king and queen. When the couple held a second wedding ceremony, Prunella was among the women who undressed the king for the bedding.

In 55 AC, Queen Alysanne found her a husband: she arranged Prunella's marriage to Lord Uther Peake, lord of Starpike, Dunstonbury, and Whitegrove. The match was seen as an exceptional one for Prunella and a personal triumph for the queen.

What also survives from her time at court is Lord Rogar Baratheon's judgment of her, describing her as a girl with no chin, no bosom, and no wits.
