Crakehall
Refugio Quebrado
Crakehall is the castle of House Crakehall, in the Westerlands, south of Casterly Rock and set along the road that runs toward the coast. A large forest opens to its east.
It has sheltered royalty on the run, hosted kings passing through on progress, and taken in boys sent away from home to be raised elsewhere — among them a young Jaime Lannister.
Chapter 1
The siege of the Poor Fellows

In 41 AC, as the Faith Militant rose against the Targaryens, Prince Aegon and Princess Rhaena had to break off their royal progress and take shelter at Crakehall.
The Poor Fellows laid siege to them there. They could not leave for Casterly Rock until the rebels gave up the siege and marched on King's Landing to face King Maegor I.

The search for Aerea

In 55 AC Rhaena returned to Crakehall, this time searching for her daughter Aerea, who had vanished on Balerion's back. No one at the castle had seen her.

Jaehaerys I TargaryenKing Jaehaerys I visited Crakehall in 55 AC as part of his royal progress through the Westerlands, and passed through the castle again in 88 AC, on another such journey.

Jaime Lannister
Walder FreyPrince Oberyn and Princess Elia Martell passed through Crakehall on their way to Casterly Rock, in the days when their mother was looking to betroth them to the Lannister twins.
Jaime Lannister and Merrett Frey were raised there as squires. Lord Walder Frey's third wife also came from Crakehall — he liked to say that every woman from the castle was a whore.
