Greenstone is the seat of House Estermont, standing on the isle of Estermont in the Stormlands.
A Targaryen princess once sought shelter within its halls, and generations later a king and his court stopped there, before the war for the Iron Throne reached its walls as well.
Chapter 1
A princess's refuge

Larissa Velaryon, cousin and childhood companion of Princess Rhaena Targaryen, settled at Greenstone once her own daughter married the lord of House Estermont.
Rhaena, after her daughter Aerea vanished, chose to stay at the castle with her old friend. It was there that word eventually reached her of Aerea's death.
Chapter 2
The king's fortnight
Books only
Jaime LannisterAlready crowned, Robert Baratheon stopped at Greenstone with part of his court, among them Queen Cersei and Kingsguard knight Jaime Lannister. The fortnight there gave the king reason to seek out a cousin of the Estermonts, leaving his wife aside.
Cersei would come to believe it was in that castle that she and Jaime conceived her son Joffrey. Jaime himself, with contempt, took to calling the place Greatshit.
Chapter 3
The Golden Company's conquest

In the midst of the war, a column of the Golden Company under Marq Mandrake seized Greenstone.
