Imry Florent
Imry Florent was a knight of House Florent, the eldest son of Ser Ryam Florent, who put his fleet at the service of Stannis Baratheon in the war for the Iron Throne.
As Lord Grand Captain he commanded Stannis's armada at the Battle of the Blackwater, one of the decisive naval clashes of the War of the Five Kings.
Chapter 1
Stannis's Grand Captain
299 AC
When Renly Baratheon died, Ser Imry followed the rest of his House and bent the knee to Stannis I, who was left as the only Baratheon king still standing against the Iron Throne.
Stannis placed the command of his fleet in his hands, with the title of Lord Grand Captain. It was that fleet, far larger in number than the one defending King's Landing, that carried Ser Imry to the Blackwater.
Chapter 2
Blind up the Blackwater
299 AC
Ser Davos Seaworth advised him to send scouts ahead to test the river before committing the whole fleet. Ser Imry did not: with four ships for every one of Joffrey I's, he saw no reason for caution.
He led his men upriver with no warning but their own numbers, straight into the trap waiting on the Blackwater. He died in the battle, with the fleet he had commanded.
