Clan Knott

House Knott is one of the mountain clans of the North, holding strongholds high in the peaks north of the Wolfswood. Its chief is known as the Knott, though at Winterfell he is given the courtesy of Lord Knott.

House Knott holds its strongholds high in the mountains north of the Wolfswood. Its chief does not carry the title of Lord among his own people, but that of the Knott.

Only at Winterfell is he given the courtesy of Lord Knott. According to semi-canonical sources, its arms show a tawny knot upon a field of silver, an image drawn from the clan's own name.
