House Magnar of Kingshouse
Clan Magnar de Kinghouse
House Magnar of Kingshouse rules a corner of the wild island of Skagos, in the far north of Westeros. Like the other clans descended from the First Men who inhabit the island, it owes only nominal loyalty to the Boltons of Winterfell, who rarely trouble themselves to enforce it. Its name, taken from the Old Tongue, simply means "Lord."
Little news of the clan travels beyond Skagos itself — only the rumors that islanders carry with them when they cross the sea and take the black.
Chapter 1
A name for a legend
Books only
Among the many theories surrounding the legendary Night's King — the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch legend says allied himself with the Others — some point to him having been a Magnar, a lord of Skagos. It is only one possibility among several, with nothing to confirm it.
Chapter 2
Rumors at Eastwatch
Books only
Arriving at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, Donal Noye overheard Skagosi islanders there speaking of "the Magnar," a lord of their homeland. It amounts to little more than that: a passing mention, the sort of rumor recruits from distant places carry with them to the Wall.
