Stokeworth

Stokeworth is the seat of the House that bears its name, standing north of King's Landing along the road toward Rosby and Duskendale. It is not a stronghold that decides wars on its own, but its closeness to the capital makes it a forced stop for anyone fleeing the city — or feeding it.

Chapter 1

One night's hospitality

Books only

In this chapterRhaenyra Targaryen

When Rhaenyra Targaryen was forced to flee King's Landing, she headed east seeking shelter at Dragonstone. The road was not kind to her: at Rosby, her party found the gates shut against them.

Stokeworth treated her differently. The castellan ruling in the name of the young Lord Stokeworth let her in, though only for a single night. The next day the queen continued on toward Duskendale.

Chapter 2

The capital's granary

Books only

As the War of the Five Kings began to strangle King's Landing, it was the lands of Stokeworth, together with those of Rosby, that kept the city fed with their harvests and livestock.
