Maidenpool Tourney

Torneo de Poza de la Doncella

The Maidenpool Tourney was a joust held under the patronage of House Targaryen, hosted by House Mooton, in which a knight of no great name won the attention of the royal court by unhorsing a prince of the blood twice.

The event, small as it seemed, marked the beginning of that knight's career at King's Landing.

Chapter 1

The knight who unhorsed the prince

104 ACBooks only

In the year 104 AC a tourney was held at Maidenpool under the banner of House Targaryen, with House Mooton as hosts of the seat. Among the knights who took up the lance was Prince Daemon Targaryen, brother to King Viserys I.

It was Ser Criston Cole, a knight of no great name until then, who drew every eye that day: he unhorsed Daemon twice. The result was enough for his name to begin circulating at Viserys's court.
