Walys Mooton
Walys Mooton was the lord of Maidenpool during the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war that split the realm between the supporters of Rhaenyra Targaryen and those of her half-brother.
As head of House Mooton, he sided with the queen, and that loyalty ended up carrying him far beyond the walls of his own castle.
Chapter 1
The retaking of Maidenpool
When the Dance of the Dragons broke out, Lord Mooton declared for Rhaenyra. After the battle of Reposo del Grajo he gathered a hundred of his men to retake his castle, and he did not do it alone: he had the help of the Crabbs, the Brunes of Punta Zarpa Rota, and the Celtigars of Isla Zarpa.
With that support he managed to retake Poza de la Doncella.
Chapter 2
The hunt for Fuegosol
130 AC
With the castle back in his hands, Walys led his men against the dragon Fuegosol, who was nearby guarded by only a few men. They defeated those guards without trouble, but the dragon proved to be a far tougher enemy than they expected.
In the fight that followed more than half the party died, Walys among them. His body was not found until two weeks later, when his brother Manfryd came upon it and succeeded him as lord of Poza de la Doncella.
