The Long Night is the battle fought at Winterfell between the forces gathered by Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen — contingents from the North, the Vale, the Iron Islands, the Night's Watch, and the Free Folk — and the Army of the Dead advancing from beyond the Wall.

It is the clash that years of rumor and sightings about the White Walkers had been pointing toward, the moment where, within the same walls, characters who had until then followed separate paths come together.
