Trial by combat of Tyrion Lannister
On this tab
Accused of poisoning King Joffrey at his own wedding feast, Tyrion Lannister refuses to beg for mercy and demands trial by combat, letting weapons decide what the judges have already made up their minds about.
Prince Oberyn Martell steps forward as his champion, ready to face the giant fielded by the Crown on the other side of the yard.
Duel with Gregor Clegane
Armed with a spear coated in manticore venom, Oberyn charges at Gregor Clegane. The fight seems to be going his way, until one misstep puts him within the Mountain's reach: Gregor knocks him down and kills him.
The wound Oberyn opened doesn't spare Clegane. The poison spreads for days until it finishes him off in a long agony, weeks after he won the duel.
